Coming out of the cocoon...

Feeling almost alive again. Writing doesn't suck. Dogs getting along. A little less day job - YAY!

Oh, and Tsunami on the Square is just a few months away. A lot to be done, but it all feels totally do-able.

Mothman over here is courtesy of last year's Tsunami, a performer from ArcheDream out of Philly.

Say What?!

This mural (located at the Prescott Public Library, Prescott, AZ) shows the importance of my local library throughout history (mad props to the Mural Mice for a fantastic job). But enough of that commie, socialist crap. Folks should PAY to use library resources, right? Say wha???

Yup, the Prescott City council is seriously considering charging Prescottonians for using the Public Library. That's right. The service our tax dollars already fund. 'Cause, y'know, in our continuing economic badness, those people are using it more. The City Council obviously thinks everyone should be at home, using their own computers & internet service & buying all those books themselves. And they are not kidding. Wankers.

More here.

I've been going through a very long shitastic time with life in general and writing in particular. Hence the complete lack of postings here at Lazy Artist's Lounge, the abrupt hiatus of the podcast, and my total withdrawal from the public arena of all things writeriffic. The details of the why are nobody else's concern. All I want to say is that I make no apologies - it is what it is, and I'll be ready to climb back out when I'm ready.

I still love reading. I still love reading some writerly blogs - I just choose to do so as that awful creature, the "lurker." I still open the 'puter and attempt to string words together. But I'm not down with discussing any of that right now.

For those of you dumb enough to friend me on Facebook, I'm sure you've noticed a ridiculous amount of notifications about farms, zoos, and mafias. If you don't like it, please feel free to unfriend me on Facebook. Seriously. I won't be offended. I can't help it if the stupid games insist on posting notifications every 5 minutes. I'm also not going to stop playing/wasting time/making tiny moments of white noise in my life/etc. with the dumb ol' Facebook games just to make you happy. So deal with it or don't. Makes no difference to me.

On the bright side, a long and extended absence from this here blog may well have resulted in a bit of welcome anonymity at the ol' Lounge. This means I can once again have a little space to just chat w/o worrying about pissing anyone off or stepping on toes or being oh-so-careful about what I say and how I say it. That is wonderful tool. And I intend to use it.
